To receive Open Water Certification, a candidate must complete either the Standard Class or the Accelerated Class, followed by five supervised Certification Dives.

Open Water Classes are conducted over a single weekend plus one evening class before the weekend. The single evening class is for administrative purposes and to demonstrate required personal items (Mask, fins, snorkel and boots). The pool and classroom training is completed on Saturday (afternoon-evening) and Sunday (morning-afternoon). The course cost is $260.00 which includes textbook, dive table, log book, training record, instruction, pool use and all equipment except personal items. You also receive a complete set of instructional videos, which are to be viewed before class.

Open Water Classes are conducted over a single weekend plus one evening class before the weekend. The single evening class is for administrative purposes and to demonstrate required personal items (Mask, fins, snorkel and boots). The pool and classroom training is completed on Saturday (afternoon-evening) and Sunday (morning). The course cost is $260.00 which includes the Diver Education System that contains everything you will need to complete the Scuba Diver Course and kick-start your diving careers! (Scuba diver textbook, workbook, student record folder, DVD, audio CDs, training and recreational logbook, pen, pencil, highlighter, and decals), Instruction, pool use and all equipment except personal items.
If you decide to complete the open water dives with AWS, the following items are provided for $175.00:
- Buoyancy control jacket w/power inflator
- Regulator w/octopus and SPG
- Compass
- Depth Gauge
- Weight belt and weights
- Scuba cylinders
- Air fills
- Full wet suit including hood and gloves
Students will provide personal items (mask, fins, snorkel and boots) and buy two quarry tickets ($10 each).
